And Then This Happened…

by Hastypearl

Have you ever had periods in your life, when you just felt like you hair was being blown back, by the pace?

That’s kind of how it’s felt around here, lately.

There was this…

Its Me! Hastypearl…feeling TOTALLY HONORED to be among such esteemed and remarkable artists and souls, at the Fiber Art San Antonio (FASA) Annual Juried show.

And Then This Happened…

We lost our Beautiful Aunt Gerry. This was a picture of her in her youth…At her 90th birthday party, just days before she passed, I sat for a long time and watched the pics of a life, her life, roll by. Soooo many wonderful days. We miss her…

And Then This Happened…

This was my Hastypearl submission for the November The Sustainable Souls Project titled, Humanity. The worlds’ environmental economy is meaningless, without a focus on humanity. It’s hard to believe that my year long commitment to this group is coming to a close.

And Then This Happened…

Exchanging “I Love You Ear Tugs” with Katherine Anne…aka Katie, for her birthday. How can she be 8eight8 years old? It’s impossible! She’s at The Nutcracker with her Daddy, right now…awww : )

And Then This Happened…

2017 Mail Art Exchange Continues…We started a little late in the year, but again, almost a year has passed exchanging mail art with a very special group of ladies.

And Then This Happened…

The Thanksgiving 2017 Switcheroo…
Hastypearl Thanksgiving 2017 Table. The original location for Thanksgiving with my family changed when we had a man down, sick. Everyone adjusted and the group here, went from 18 to 6. We still had a wonderful time and pushed ourselves away from the tables, completely stuffed!

And Then This Happened….

Our 2017 Family trip to HGTV’s Chip and Joanna Gaines, Magnolia, in Waco, Texas. We were on our way to our annual family reunion, nearby. I don’t know if you are as blessed as I am, to have the most wonderful family in the WORLD??? I HOPE that you ARE!
Senior and Junior Beard/Sawyer generations at West, Texas Thanksgiving 2017
Sophmore Sawyer/Beard generation West, Texas 2017(somehow I missed getting a pic of the baby Freshmen : )
Laura and cousin Becky looking mighty fine in their flashing bulb earrings…
Laura and cousin Beverly at the West, Texas Thanksgiving 2017. We were BEYOND SILLY, which is so easy to do with people that you’ve spent your entire life with. It’s always just Pure Joy to do.

And then this happened…

“Home” Encaustic Mixed Media on board.

Somehow, in between all of the above…(and its only half of my posting…I’ll do the second half in the next posting)…I somehow managed to get in my studio and create! This piece was a chance for me to dip my brushes back into the wax. I loved using some of my ecodyed papers as backgrounds. I think that you can see that most of this posting was about Family…They often are. I guess it has something to do with this time of year. It affords us so many more opportunities to find our way, to the ones that we love.

We’ve had some terrible and wonderful challenges lately…in our family. We will get through them and know that accidents or poor health or relocations, lead us to opportunities that we wouldn’t have had otherwise. It has been amazing to feel the love, support and prayers from SO MANY. Its just a reminder of how many people really do love us. Thank you.

Readers. I’m always happy that you stop by. Little by little, this little tribe is growing and I find that people from all over the world read about what’s going on with Hastypearl. You are welcome here, anytime. You are invited to sign up to receive an email notice when there is a new Hastypearl posting.I HOPE that you will !

Wherever you live, whatever you celebrate, take time to recognize how much…

And Then This Happened… is in Your life : )

*

The very best as always to You and…I’ll be back, very soon…Laura
